My name is Devonte Souden and I am currently studying at Christ The King Sixth form where I am a A2 student retake my AS Media Coursework and have been give the task of my main coursework. I will have to produce my own Music Magazine which is worth 50% of my final AS grade with this I must include the front page, double page spread and contents page . When doing this task i will do a variation of planning and research to give me knowledge on different convention that consist in a magazine. I will do the following:
- Research real media texts
- Magazine conventions diagram (front cover, double page spread and content page)
Conventions Diagrams- I have annotate different convention and have also done some textual analysis so I can have more knowledge of different conventions that a magazine would have but still make it look engaging and professional
Magazine Mock Ups- For this I would design different style in which I might used for my magazine. It has the main conventions include Masterhead, coverlines, main coverline, barcode, Qr code, prices, main image and other images that is in the magazine mock ups

Photoshop Drafts- I have drawing/sketches of what my final outcome might look like and have present some of my drafts with annotation to explain what I have changed. Also I will carry out audience research asking my targeting audience what type of features they would like me to include.

Below is my textual analysis of real media text where I gave the conventional skills needed for my final products.
Denotation: In this music magazine you can see that the rapper Rick Ross in the centre of the page presented touching the gold “XXL” masterhead which symbolizes that Rick Ross that he has the golden touch. This is a medium shot as it shows the subject “Rick Ross” from the waist upwards. We can see that the subject is looking directly at the camera which directly looking at the audience and involves the audience. The background of this image is a black which allows the pictures to clearly be seen by the audience. Next to the image we can see the subject touches the masterhead and that the traditional logo of real and white turning from red to gold. At the bottom of the magazine at the left hand corner is the barcode.
Master Head: The masterhead “XXL” is very different from other hip-pop magazine as they change the colours of logo based on the artist or any other special events. However in there magazine they have changes the traditional colours of red and white to a red and gold connote how he has that golden touch and the status the subject has. The gold colours are also immediately appeal to the audience due to the brightness of the colours and how it contrasts with the background colours. The front is also a very simple and bold font which helps keep the magazine professional and is very effective. XXL suggested that it is a big magazine due to the XXL and is a hip-pop magazine due to the artist’s that they use.

Composition: The character is wearing a formal tuxedo suit with sun glasses and expensive jewellery which isn't normal worn with this type of suits. However this shows that the artist was raise in urban area in American and is overwhelming for his reputation hence the reason why he is wearing expensive jewellery which is present in a mid shot.
Costume:We can see that the character “Rick Ross” is wearing a formal tuxedo suit with sun glasses and expensive jewellery which signifies that he is wealthy person also symbolises that fact that he likes to show it off a lot of the time.
